Working on my backlog!

The wonderful sweet, mischievious, smart, athletic, funny, handsome, talkative and lovable Harper James Jakobson Healy on his 2nd birthday - January 6, 2011

I've obviously fallen off the Blog Wagon, and I'm trying to get back on. I told Grammie it was overwhelming when I thought of all the blogs I would need to post in order to catch up to the present. She said I didn't need to do that (which I knew...it was just nice to hear it from a regular reader!), so what I'm doing instead is posting just a few pics, videos and a little commentary from the last couple of months. With a VERY active, talkative, determined and SMART little boy on my hands all day, it's getting more and more difficult to blog - I know you all understand!

Below are some pictures and videos from different things we did for Harpzilla's 2 birthday. Daddy and I can't believe how quickly time has flown by! We love watching him grow into a caring, fun, sweet, active and intelligent little boy.

Videos and pictures from the actual day of his birthday below...

Everyone had a blast! And, sticking with birthday party tradition, he wore his hair in a mohawk =)

Pictures from Harper's birthday party below...

Boppa Healy and Nona Dena also came and took us out to dinner. Here is a picture of Harper eating some ice cream at the Mexican Restaurant we went to.

Everyday, I try to remind myself how lucky I am to have a healthy, happy child.

I love you, Harpzilla!

Harper's Best Friends - Buzz and Woody

I decided to give Harper a couple of his presents a few days before Christmas. We were going to be spending Christmas Eve and Day with my family, and we didn't see the point of packing the car full of wrapped gifts for the trip. Plus, Harper is still a little too young to really know what's going on during the holidays, so hopefully he doesn't remember this for the rest of his life, and expect presents everyday leading up to Christmas for the next 16 years.

Here is a video of him showing you his new chair. My grandparents gave me some money to get Harper a gift from them, and I decided that will all the toys I knew he'd be getting, a Big Boy Chair might be fun for him! As you can tell, we should have bought stock in all things Toy Story before the holidays...and Harper points out all of his favorite characters for you!

...and this video is of Harper's sweet New, Sweet Ride!

He just started actually sitting on it and riding it a few days ago. I think it just needed to sit in our living room and take up space for a couple of weeks...and just before I was almost deciding to maybe take it back, he finally started playing with it =)

**Coming soon (hopefully) - a few BIG Christmas posts. As long as I can sort all the pictures, and get some "Harper-free" time, this will happen!**

Aunt Shortney!

Mom-Mom's best friend, Courtney, came for a visit in December...and she had SO much fun with Harpzilla! She hadn't seen him in a year, and he's a completely different little guy now that he's talking, running, talking, getting into trouble, talking and dancing! While Mom-Mom and Aunt Courtney gossiped and caught up on all the latest news, Harper entertained everyone by showing off =)

Harper Gaga

Harper is obsessed with my makeup, so one day in Wisconsin, I gave him some eyeshadow, and let him go nuts with it.

We called him Harper Gaga for the night!

He's also really into glasses. Here is a picture of him wearing a pair of Gamma KJ's glasses.

I pray he inherits his Daddy's perfect eyesight...but he does look pretty cute as a four-eyed child!

Our Wisconsin Thanksgiving

We are having a fabulous time in Wisconsin! Harper was SUCH a good boy on both of the flights over here. Below is a pic of Harper watching the "AINES!" (planes), walking on a moving sidewalk with Daddy, and modeling his new backpack (best feature of this backpack is the looooong strap for Mom-Mom and Dada to keep him close!). We hope the return flight goes as smoothly as this one did!!!

(sorry, pics taken with my phone...)

One of Harper's favorite activities, going on walks, is a LOT different here in Wisconsin!!! It's been in the 20s, so LOTS of bundling up happens before you go outside. Seeing Harper do his Harper Trot, with all that extra clothing, is hilarious. He almost lost his balance a few times because of the extra weight.

(sorry, pics taken with my phone...again.)

Tuli had a guitar lesson on Monday with a friend of KJ's. He's been practicing on a borrowed guitar, and of course, Harper is interested in anything his Daddy is doing.

We've been talking about getting Harper a little guitar, so Gamma KJ got him one!!! It's bright green, and perfectly Harper-sized. Yay for Gamma KJ!!!

(Father/Son jam session!)

(little hands for a little guitar!)

Other things going on...

Spaghetti Dinner with friends

Lots of running around and PLAYING!!!

Lots of Quality Time with Gamma KJ

Harper's Uncle Ari is flying in later today, so we are having our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow, at a neighbor's house. The neighbor has a 2 year old daughter, Lucy, who Harper has already played with a couple of times, so we are all looking forward to a great day!!! Mom-Mom and Dada have been getting to sleep in, and we are both grateful to be with family, in a warm house, and surrounded by love on our vacation!
