Hiccups

I can't believe Harper is 7 weeks old already!!! I love his chubby cheeks and little thigh rolls :)

Last week's visit with my sister was so great. I loved that she got to meet her nephew, and I definitely appreciated all of the help that she gave me. Harper showed her his appreciation by peeing on her! :) HAHA

One of the days she was visiting, we took Harper to both of my parent's offices to show him off:

He wore his business outfit
In the above picture, he is checking his schedule to see if he can squeeze a client in...

Here is a video of Harper with the hiccups :)

Now we want Aunt Missy to come back for good!!!
Harper, Chuck, Sibyl and I miss her already :(

Bathtime!!!

Harper's Aunt Missy and I gave Harper a bath last night, and he loved it!!!!! Harper has really loved having his favorite Aunt here to cuddle him and tell him how cute he is. Aunt Missy of course has fallen in love with the Doodle.

Today we are going to Albany to show Harper off at my Mom's work and then at my Dad's law firm. Harper's presence is in high demand! It's a busy life being so cute!!!

Harper's Baptism

On Sunday, Harper James was baptized at my Mom and Quan's church - Faith Lutheran Church. It was a wonderful day! Harper left his mark on Pastor Laurie by throwing up on her during the ceremony ;) It was hilarious! It will definitely be a good story to re-tell when he's older.

Below are pictures from the big day. My grandparents, my Aunt Terry and her husband, Sherm were there to help us celebrate. Harper's Aunt Ashley also made the trip up from Eugene...which was a big deal because she doesn't wake up early on the weekends for just anyone :) Harper felt so honored!

It's hard to believe that he is 6 weeks old already! His newborn size clothes are actually starting to get a little snug! He gets cuter everyday. He is getting stronger also.

AND...with the use of a nipple shield, I've been able to nurse him more than a few times in the last few days! It was such a good feeling to have those bonding moments with just him and I like I had been wanting for the last 6 weeks. I feel confident that in a few weeks, I will be able to nurse him without the nipple shield. I can't wait :) It's been such a long process, and I feel like I've been digging out of a hole with the breastfeeding thing since he was born. I am so proud of myself for sticking with it! And I'm proud of Harper too!

Such a tender picture...can you tell that Grammie's world revolves around Harper James? What a lucky boy he is!!
Might I just say that this is my FAVORITE PICTURE of Harper and Tuli...it's just soooo sweet :)

Cutie Patootie

Just a quick update on Doodle-Bug :)

He got weighed yesterday, and he was 7lbs and 10 ounces!!! He gained almost a pound in 9 days! He's still not breastfeeding yet...I spend most of my day hooked up to the breast pump, to make sure he at least is getting breastmilk. Because he was born almost a month early, his sucking abilities are not very good. It's the hardest thing to handle for me...It feels like when he rejects my breast, he is rejecting ME. I know that this is not the case, but it's hard not to feel that way. We've tried everything...but nothing has worked so far. I want him to nurse more than anything right now...to feel that mother/baby bond that I thought I would be experiencing...to have special Mom/Harper moments that nobody else can have. For now, at the advice of the lactation consultant, we are taking a break from even trying to get him to nurse. Harper and I are both too emotionally charged about the whole scene, and we both need a break before we reintroduce him to the idea in a couple of weeks.

It's hard to believe that he is already 5 weeks old! I love him more everyday!
