Fun with the Camera (and a new hair color for Mommy!)
Here, Harper goes from posing and smiling for the camera to, "hmmm, what's that shiny thing?
What does that taste like? Gimme gimme Mommy!!!!"
And, as you can see from the below set....it's pretty impossible these days to get him to sit still for more than 5 seconds. Actually, make that 2 seconds.
The Future Mr. and Mrs. Harper Healy
We spent all day Sunday at Brooklyn and Josh's house
(oh, ok, Nate and Cathy live there too)...
I helped Cathy get all of her wedding invitations ready to mail out tomorrow...and the kiddos had a blast trashing Cathy's living room :)

Have I Mentioned How Lucky I Am?
I dunno what is wrong with me this morning.
There are lots of "mommy" blogs I follow regularly, and today I happened to click on a link to a blog I had never read before. (Click here to read it) It's a family's journey through the death of a child. A twin for that matter. Did this tug on my heart strings because Harper's Uncle Max is a twin, and Harper's Aunt Al is the mother to Max and Lance? Am I extra emotional because Harper and I didn't sleep well last night with Tuli staying in Portland?
Part of me wishes I didn't ever find this blog...but then this whole "Higher Power" thing that I hear and talk about in meetings all week long reminds me that it must have been for a reason I clicked on this link, read every single one of the entries, and cried like a baby.
It was to remind me of how lucky I am to have a healthy baby.
How lucky am I to have gotten pregnant without even having to "try"?
How lucky am I to have gotten healthy 3 months before this "surprise"?
How lucky am I that Harper was born in a safe place, at the hands
of a caring doctor and midwife?
How lucky am I that I am able to stay at home with my baby?
How lucky am I to have created this little human...a "mini-me" that has changed everyone's life?
How lucky am I that my child is healthy, happy and thriving?

Spending the Night at Grammie's and Quampa's
Last Saturday, Harper, Tuli and I stayed the night at Grammie and Quampa's house. Quampa was hosting a poker tournament that Tuli played in, and my Mom and I played with the baby and did some sewing.
What a treat it was for Harper to wake up to playful Grandparents at 6:30am on Sunday! And vice versa!
Here are the things we learned during that trip:

(and might I add...what a treat it was for Tuli and I to sleep in!!!!)
Here are the things we learned during that trip:
That Harper can climb to the top of the stairs all by himself
(with Grammie behind him at all times of course)
That Chuck makes an excellent headrest for bottle time
That if it's the career path he chooses, Harper would make an adorable cowboy
That he is the ONLY person that Quampa would give up his recliner for
And finally........
That he LOVES chocolate ice cream!
(this is much to Grammie's liking, seeing that she is a non-recovering chocoholic)
He also must be a good luck charm, because Quampa came in 2nd place out of 30 players!

Cruisin'
Harper James is an overachiever. Although he was born 4 weeks early, he seems to be determined to accomplish most things early! He is happiest when he is standing, holding a toy, and telling his toy stories. Yes, his little voice is one of the many things I love about that boy. He loves to cruise around the coffee table and see what he can get his hands on...remote controls, coasters, cell phones, silverware, cups (you get the idea...).
He has 4 upper teeth now and still just 2 on bottom. His little smile is changing so much!
His hair is getting thicker and darker, like his Daddy's. He is very mellow and likes to focus on anything that catches his eye. He makes lots of new sounds when he jabbers.
Harper's First Emerald's Game
One of our friends, Stacy, decided to celebrate her birthday by going to an Em's game. The Emeralds are Eugene's minor league baseball team. Even though they lost, we had a blast eating junk, playing with Harper, and spending a nice evening outside with good friends!
